Kwara State University

This endeavor began in earnest on July 11, 2007, when Kwara State Governor Bukola Saraki inaugurated a planning committee. Under the leadership of former governor Alhaji Mohammed Shaaba Lafiagi, this committee laid the groundwork for the establishment of KWASU.
The critical milestone came when the Bill for Kwara State University was signed into law on December 24, 2008. Subsequently, on February 9, 2009, KWASU obtained the certificate and instrument to operate from the National Universities Commission (NUC).
