In 2022, the institution, alongside Redeemer’s University, Covenant University, Babcock University, and Landmark University, occupied the top five best private universities in Nigeria by the National Universities System (NUS) ranking.

Like the Landmark University of Nigeria, the Institution has produced thousands of graduates, many of whom are doing well in their respective careers.

Adedamola Williams is an Afe Babalola University notable alumni. She is widely known as a model and an entrepreneur. She’s a popular social media personality, with a huge following on Instagram. She once reportedly dated Davido, a renowned Nigerian singer.

2. Afe Babalola University notable alumna – Fortune Anidima

Fortune Anidima obtained a 4.67 CGPA in Geology from Afe Babalola University (ABUAD), Ado Ekiti, Ekiti State. She hails from Bonny Local Government Area in Rivers State, Nigeria. She reportedly lectures at the Federal Polytechnic Institute for Oil and Gas.

3. Mary Adeyemo

Mary Adeyemo is an Afe Babalola University notable alumni. She’s a renowned legal practitioner in Nigeria. She graduated as the best graduating law student and a first-class graduate of Afe Babalola University, Ado-Ekiti, Nigeria in 2017. She was called to the Nigerian Bar in 2018.
Adeyemo is a member of the HeLEX – Centre for Health, Law and Emerging Technologies of the Faculty of Law, University of Oxford. She received a direct admission to study for a PhD at Oxford University in England.

Adeyemo was born into the family of Mr. and Mrs. Kunle Adeyemo. She grew up in Ikorodu. She’s a native of Fiditi in the Afijio Local Government Area of Oyo State. She had her primary and secondary education in Ikorodu before she came to ABUAD in Ekiti State. She attended Perfecta International Primary School and Stars International Secondary School.

Adeyemo’s father is a chartered accountant. He once worked at Peugeot Nigeria Limited.

4. Esther Azom

Esther Azom is another alumna of the Afe Babalola University, Ado-Ekiti, ABUAD. In 2018, she was rewarded with a brand new N5.7 million car and over one million Naira cash for her academic performance. At 24, she was admitted to read medicine in the 2011/2012 academic session and maintained distinctions in all her courses, from 100 Level to 500 Level in Surgery, Medicine, and Community Medicine in the final MBBS examinations.

Azom hails from Anambra State. She was born into a family of four . She and her siblings attended Baptist High School, where she got 6As in her WASSCE.

Chijioke Ukomadu is an Afe Babalola University notable alumni. He is also a first class graduate of law from Afe Babalola University, Ado-Ekiti (ABUAD). He grew up in Abuja, but he’s originally from Abia State. He received a degree in law (LL.B). Prior to that, he had schooled in Abuja, where he received his West African Secondary School certificate. He once served as the President of ABUAD’s Law Students Society.

6. Favour Uka

Favour Uka is another notable alumna of Afe Babalola University. She graduated from the university with a first-class law degree. During her undergraduate years, she served in the Student Representative Council, the Law Student Society Chamber, and the Literary and Debating Society. She is a lawyer.

The Ekiti State governor, Ayo Fayose, in 2014, rewarded her with N1 million and an employment offer for emerging as the best graduating student out of the 334 students at the convocation of the university. Oluwatosin Ogunbusola’s major was Economics. She’s an Afe Babalola University notable alumni.

8. Afe Babalola University notable alumnus – Unyime Akpan

Unyime Akpan is a renowned alumnus of Afe Babalola. At the age of 20, he emerged as the best graduating student in law. He was a member of the school choir and a judge in the Law Students’ Society Judiciary. Before he was appointed a judge, he was a member of the Attorney General’s Chambers in the Law Students’ Society. He was also a member of the editorial committee of the ABUAD Law Students’ Society Journal.

9. Jesunifemi Ogundipe

Jesunifemi Ogundipe is a popular author. She is a lawyer, author, spoken word artist, and communications consultant. The alumna of Afe Babalola University, in 2021, launched a book, ‘When Purpose Lives’, during the university convocation dinner, which was specially commissioned by Afe Babalola and H.E Ayodele Fayose, the then Governor of Ekiti State.

10. Afe Babalola University notable alumnus – Olajide Sanyaolu

Olajide Sanyaolu came to the limelight after being helped by the popular Nigerian singer, Davido, in 2021. The artist contributed funds to help him complete his university education. Sanyaolu left Liverpool University, where he was studying Electronics and Communications Engineering, because he couldn’t afford it.

11. Jumoke Zainab Adedoyin

Jumoke Zainab Adedoyin, popularly known as JMK is an Afe Babalola University notable alumni. She’s an Instagram influencer, food blogger, reality television star, and lawyer. She came to limelight after featuring in Brother Naija season 6, Shine Ya Eye edition in 2021. She was born on December 20, 1997 in Ijomu-Oro, Kwara State, Nigeria, to her parents, Mr. Alhaji Raheem Adedoyin and Mrs. Basirat Tunrayo Adebayo Adedoyin.

Adedoyin’s father was the Commissioner of Information and APC Chieftain for Kwara State, who also served as the Secretary of the International Press Institute in the region.

JMK owned a food blog and, in 2021, opened a restaurant, JMK Eats, which sells local and international dishes.

12. Segun Ilugbusi

Segun Ilugbusi is an Afe Babalola University notable alumni. He’s an explorer, writer, ABUAD Director of Bookshop, Head of Entrepreneurship Department, and president of the ABUAD Alumni Association. He bagged a bachelor’s degree in economics. He’s a masters degree holder in finance and a doctoral degree in France.
