About Covenant University Department of Computer Science
The Covenant University Department of Computer Science was established in 2002, coinciding with the inception of the university. Initially, both Computer Science and Management Information System programs fell under the Department of Computer and Information Technology, led by Prof. T.S. Ibiyemi. The pioneering faculty members included Mr. V. C. Osamor, Mr. Nicholas A. Omoregbe, and Mr. O. O. Olugbara.
Dr. C. K. Ayo joined the university in 2003 and became the first substantive Head of the Department. Subsequent heads included Dr. E. F. Adebiyi (2008-2011), Prof. C. K. Ayo (2011-2012), Dr. Nicholas A. Omoregbe (2012), Dr. A. A. Adebiyi (2014-2016), and Dr. O. O. Oladipupo (2016-2017). In August 2017, Prof. V.C. Osamor assumed the role of the Head of the Department, followed by Professor Ambrose Azeta, who currently serves as the Head of Department.
